The Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was officially announced on January 18. The selection was unveiled during a press conference in Mumbai by the BCCI chairman of selectors, Ajit Agarkar, and team captain, Rohit Sharma.
India enters the tournament with a strong record in ICC ODI events. They reached the finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and have consistently made it to the semi-finals in every ICC ODI tournament since their 2011 World Cup victory.
A major boost for India is the return of Mohammed Shami, whose skills are expected to be highly effective in Dubai’s conditions. Additionally, young players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Arshdeep Singh have been included, adding fresh energy to the team.
India will begin their campaign on February 20 against Bangladesh in Dubai. The much-anticipated clash with Pakistan is scheduled for February 23, followed by a game against New Zealand on March 2 at the same venue.

Rohit Sharma

Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja was the standout bowler of the 2013 Champions Trophy. He finished as the tournament’s highest wicket-taker with 12 wickets at an average of 12.83. His all-round performance in the final, where he scored 33 runs and took two wickets, played a significant role in India’s victory.
In the 2025 squad, Jadeja faces competition from other spin-bowling all-rounders like Washington Sundar and Axar Patel. However, his experience and ability to perform under pressure make him a key player in the bowling department. He will likely form a strong spin partnership with Kuldeep Yadav.
